Denise Anstey, Founder Cream & Cotton

Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Denise Anstey’s ability to conceive and develop began at an early age. By her fifteenth year Denise had started collecting African textiles, a collection that eventually grew in size and shape with materials and patterns that spanned the globe - From India to Europe and back again.
Consistently since the 1980's Denise has worked with her hands as a ceramicist, designer, cook, gardener, mother and entrepreneur.
After emigrating to the US, rooting in Los Angeles, having a family and joining her Brother David in a design team for Streets Ahead, Inc. Denise has followed a path of dedication to bringing inspiration, creativity and an unparalleled  attention to detail in everything she does.Over the next 18 years Denise forged a tremendous success with Streets Ahead,.Buzz 18 Denim and Streets Ahead Home collections.
In 2010 Denise launched her newest line, Cream & Cotton - Born from her readiness to embark on a new stage of sourcing and design, culminating in a series of symbolically embellished scarves. Each style in any Cream & Cotton collection implies a significance to the natural, the spiritual, the past and present.
Denise has come full-circle, back to her childhood textiles, committed to working with her hands -  and any other part of her that can be used to express a sense of beauty and wearability.
